I fondly remember our first road trip with Janice when Lynne and I lived in South Africa some 30 years ago and our last one in Dubai and Oman less than 3 months ago. We saw so many places over the years and shared so many unforgettable experiences together. I got lost on the first trip and ended up going north for two hours when we should have been going south to Cape Town. I topped that off nicely on the last trip ending up in Abu Dhabi instead of Dubai, Janice used to pull my leg about the number of U turns we would make but she always just sat there patiently, never complaining and happy to go wherever we took her and do whatever we asked her, just content to be with us. When Steffi and Genna were only a year old and Lynne and I were both in new jobs, we had a bit of a crisis with childcare, we called Janice and said "help", without even asking any questions she was on a coach that day from Exeter to Edinburgh with no idea when she would be returning, again just happy to be with her grandchildren and help out. The family for Janice meant unconditional love, which she demonstrated on so many occasions, she was caring, selfless and the best a grandma could ever be. Life goes on but it won't be the same without her, we will all miss her so much and forever cherish these memories.
